Tomorrow…

Tomorrow…a word that fills a lot of us Dodger fans with HOPE.  Tomorrow marks the deadline for the first round bids for the Los Angeles Dodgers.  I am not sure what the future holds for us in terms of a new owner but I am rejoicing at the possibility of starting over with someone who believes in doing what it takes to WIN and to once again be  GREAT.  Tomorrow, the first step of ridding ourselves of that pariah Frank McCourt begins (maybe not completely if he owns the parking lot).  The sale of the team won’t be finalized until after the start of the baseball season but atleast by the time October comes around we’ll be long free from the clutches of that greedy little man.  Hopefully when October comes along we’ll be on the hunt for a championship trophy…it’s time to get out of the slump!  Go Dodgers!

The Dog Days of Summer

My its been pretty hot!  The San Fernando Valley has posted multiple days of 100+ degree weather.  The Dodgers are currently in hot and humid St. Louis where they have lost the first two games of the series with the Red Birds.  I have got to admit that I am a bit disappointed with their play.  Pitching has been terrible the last two starts.  I expected more from Kershaw but he’s been so good, it’s hard to fault him.  Billingsley is playing to usual expectations as he is hit or miss.  Joe Torre allowed Sherrill out of the bullpen and he served a two run homer to the light hitting catcher Yadier Molina.  Typical Sherrill and typical Joe Torre.  Dodger fans this week rejoiced because the Dodgers put Sherrill on waivers.  Sherrill says he might or might not accept a minor league assignment.  He’s afraid of being forgetten in AAA.  I’d sure like to send him somewhere where he is out of sight and out of mind and leave him there forever!

This season has been hard to swallow.  Yes the Dodgers are in contention but it just seems that when things begin to run smoothly something always happens to hinder any progress that has been made.  We need pitching!  We need an owner who cares about winning a championship!  We need a team that plays with 100% effort and we need this team to find the HEART that they played with last year.

George Steinbrenner passed away earlier this week.  As I read many newspaper articles about him and his life the one thing that stood out was the WIN at ALL Cost Mentality.  I hope Frank McCourt read a few of those articles because we Dodger Fans are getting sick of the wait till next year mentality.  We’ve been waiting since 1988.
